• Q. How do I choose the right color for me?

    A. FreshLook® contact lenses offers a wide palette of beautiful colors, which you can see for yourself in the FreshLook® Color Studio. Color selection depends on your natural eye color, hair color, skin tone, and the type of chance you’d like. Once you’ve made your color selection, visit your eye care professional and ask for a free* in-office trial.

    A. Yes. FreshLook® COLORBLENDS® contact lenses can change the color of brown eyes. • Q. Do FreshLook® color contacts look natural?

  • Q. What if I have perfect vision?

    A. FreshLook® color contact lenses are also available for people who don’t need vision correction. But because contact lenses are considered a medical device by the FDA, they require an exam, fitting, and prescription by an eye care professional even if you have perfect vision. *Eye exam may be required. Professional fees may apply. At participating offices.

  • Q. What if I have a strong prescription?

  • Q. Where can I purchase FreshLook® color contacts?

  • Q. How much do FreshLook® color contacts cost?

    A. FreshLook® color contacts are packaged six contact lenses in one box. We recommend contacting your eye care professional or retailer to compare current prices and availability in your area.

*Eye exam may be required. Professional fees may apply. At participating offices.

  • Q. Are FreshLook® color contacts disposable?

    A. Yes. Only your eye care professional can determine the best wearing schedule for you. FreshLook® COLORBLENDS® and FreshLook® Dimensions color contacts lenses are designed for daily wear with nightly removal and proper cleaning and storage for up to two week before disposal. FreshLook® One-Day contact lenses are designed to be worn daily and thrown away. You can purchase one color, two colors, or more, and wear them to match your mood or outfit. Color contacts can be worn full-time or in conjunction with your eyeglasses or clear contacts.
  • Q. Frequent replacement contact lenses are supposed to be discarded after a period of time (1 day, 1 week, 1 month, etc.). Can I continue to wear them if they are still comfortable after the recommended wearing period?

    A. Contact lens materials vary, and contacts should not be worn for longer than the wearing period recommended by your eye care professional. It is important to replace contact lenses on a frequent basis to help prevent discomfort, dryness, blurred vision or allergic reaction that can result from a build-up of protein and lipid deposits on the contact lenses.
  • Q. How often should I dispose of my contacts?

    A. Alcon recommends replacement of FreshLook® COLORBLENDS® and FreshLook® Dimensions contact lenses at intervals of every two weeks. Alcon recommends replacement of FreshLook® One-Day contact lenses daily. The eye care professional may determine a replacement schedule greater or less than these suggested intervals based upon clinical examination of the patient, professional judgment and clinical experience with the contact lenses because individual response to contact lenses vary. Please consult the package insert for full wearing guidelines.
  • Q. My eye care professional recommended a different wearing schedule for my contact lenses than what is recommended in the package insert. Which is correct?

    A. It is customary for a manufacturer to include a recommended replacement schedule for its products in the product package inserts, fitting guide booklets and in some cases on the packaging itself. Such recommendations provide a reference point for those eye care professionals who are looking for such information.

Alcon supports and recommends frequent replacement of contact lenses. Because each patient’s eyes are different, only your eye care professional can determine the appropriate contact lens replacement for you. Your eye care professional can help.

  • Q. How do I care for my color contacts?

    A. Care for your color contacts as you would for any other soft contact lenses. We recommend OPTI-FREE® PureMoist® Multipurpose Disinfecting Solution. Your eye care professional will instruct you on how to properly care for your contacts.
  • Q. Do color contacts fade over time?

    A. No, the color does not fade.
  • Q. Do you see things in color when you wear color contacts?

    A. No. FreshLook® color contact lenses will change your eye color, but will not affect how you see colors.
  • Q. Can I swim while wearing my contact lenses?

    A. Consult the eye care professional about wearing contact lenses while swimming. Alcon recommends the use of protective goggles while swimming with contacts. Swimming while wearing contact lenses without wearing protective goggles could lead to an infection in the eyes, which if left untreated could lead to a scar on your eye, or in rare cases, loss of vision. Contact lenses are porous and may absorb chemicals, microbes, or other impurities in the water, which may harm or irritate your eyes and possibly lead to an infection. Additionally, lenses can stick on or easily fall off the eye and get lost if the eyes are opened under water.

In addition to wearing protective goggles, Alcon recommends that you remove your lenses when you get out of the water and either dispose and replace them (if they are disposable lenses), or properly clean and disinfect them before wearing them again. Alcon recommends using OPTI-FREE® PureMoist® Multipurpose Disinfecting Solution to clean and disinfect your contact lenses. Wearers of FreshLook® One-Day contact lenses should replace the worn pair with a fresh new pair soon after swimming.

  • Q. Can I shower while wearing my contact lenses?

    A. Although contact lenses can be worn while showering, use caution because shower water is not free of any microbes or other impurities that may harm your eyes. Close your eyes while rinsing, and if you do get anything in your eyes while showering, such as soap or shampoo, Alcon recommends that you remove, clean and disinfect your contact lenses. In such an incidence FreshLook® One-Day contact lenses should be replaced with a fresh new pair. If any irritation persists, contact your eye care professional immediately. Ask your eye care professional about showering while wearing contact lenses.
  • Q. Is it okay to play sports while wearing contact lenses?

    A. Wearing soft contact lenses for sports provides a more flexible and stable form of visual correction than spectacles. Contacts do not fog up and do not slide down your nose. Contacts contribute to optimal sports performance, providing better peripheral vision than glasses to help give you better sports results! Additionally, contact lenses can be worn with regular sunglasses. Remember, however, that contact lenses are not a substitute for protective eyewear.
  • Q. Are there times when you should not wear contact lenses?

    A. Your eye care professional can tell you about situations or environmental conditions that may be inappropriate for contact lens wear. Some examples are:
    • Exposing contact lenses to water while swimming or while in a hot tub may increase the risk of eye infections from micro-organisms.
    • Fumes, smoke or vapors should be avoided to reduce the chance of contact lens contamination.
  • Q. Who should not wear contact lenses?

    A. You should not wear contact lenses if you:
    • Have an eye infection or inflammation (redness and swelling)
    • Have an eye disease, eye injury or dryness that interferes with contact lens wear
    • Have a systemic disease that may be affected by or impact contact lens wear
    • Have certain types of allergic conditions
    • Are using certain medications, such as some eye medications
  • Q. Is it safe to share contact lenses with others?

    A. No. Don’t share your contact lenses with anyone! Contact lenses, even if worn for cosmetic reasons, are medical devices that must only be worn under the prescription, direction and supervision of an eye care professional. Serious eye health problems may occur as a result of sharing contact lenses.
  • Q. Can I wear makeup with my contact lenses?

    A. Yes, but try to avoid getting makeup on your contact lenses. Always insert your contact lenses before applying eye makeup and remove contact lenses before taking off eye makeup. If you have sensitive eyes, special makeup for use with contact lenses is available.
  • Q. Are FreshLook® Color Contact Lenses safe?

    A. When fitted, worn and cared for properly, color contact lenses can provide a safe and unique way to enhance your appearance. However, problems associated with wearing contact lenses (clear or color) and using contact lens care products may result in serious eye injury, scarring of the cornea, and loss of vision.
